Not just a neighbour

Created by Rachel 3 years ago
I have known Elizabeth since I was 9 years old from swimming club days and she was my chaperone in Jersey. I had the great fortune of becoming her neighbour 22 years ago but she wasn’t just a neighbour she was so much more a friend and advisor of all things, gardening, nature, cooking, health and education to name but a few.  I will miss our chats, veg swaps and flap jack bake off’s. Elizabeth was a happy soul who loved sharing stories about her children, their partners and grandchildren and was immensely proud of them all.  Over the years when we were on holiday she looked after our various pets (guinea pigs, goldfish, hamster) and with Pam and Andy’s cat, we joked she could have a achieved an NVQ in small Animal Care!  Once a guinea pig did pass away in her care and she wrapped him up and laid him to rest in a shoe box so we could bury him when we got home, thoughtful as ever. She was always interested in my girls and their achievements and welfare and never forgot their birthdays. She was a very special lady who we will remember in our hearts and prayers forever. God bless. Rachel, Stuart, Lydia and Lois.
